It’s Autumn in Cape Town, with winter fast approaching – but it
certainly doesn’t feel that way. The sun was out, though there was enough chill
in the air due to the sea at the harbour.
We were indecisive on where to eat, and then I remembered that I
have the entertainer app. I have visited most of the restaurants on the app,
but City Grill Steakhouse is by far one of my favourite restaurants at the
V&A Waterfront, so this made the decision easier.
The outside seating of CGS (City Grill Steakhouse) caught my eyes,
as it had nice and cosy blankets draped over the seats. When we arrived, the
waitress was keen on assisting us. We both had a look at our menus, even though we already knew what we were having. I opted for the queen prawns whilst my boyfriend went for the giant mixed grill skewer.
Food: The food was excellent. I ordered Escargot as a starter (it was good - although I am not a fan of snails). We were both satisfied with our main dishes which was the grilled skewer and prawns. The prawns were so fresh that I could actually smell the ocean. If you love hot stuff, add some Tobasco sauce to the sauce they provide you with. My boyfriend had the most amazing pepper sauce with his grilled meats. They have a good selection of wine and non-alcoholic drinks to choose
from. Their cocktails are REALLY cheap and REALLY good.
Service: the service was excellent, although I was a bit annoyed that we received our order long after the girls
who arrived after us. They had also ordered the mixed grill skewer. The waitress was friendly.
Decor: I loved the setting, especially outside as it's quite spacious, and they provide heaters as well as blankets to keep you nice and cosy while enjoying your meal.
Until my next review. X.O TUF
